BYOD in Brazil - Apptivities for ELT

This is a blog post which follows a presentation given by me at the IMAGE CONFERENCE in Brasília today.

While thinking about the topic I had chosen to discuss, I decided to build my talk around an infographic with all the information I'd collected, along with links. 

- First, I used PIKTOCHART to create the embeddable infographic.

- Then, to make it interactive, I added the resources to it using THINGLINK. So if you hover the mouse over the image, when clicking the little dots, you'll be taken to different resources.

I initially talked about different aspects we have to consider when adopting either a BYOD or a 1:1 approach. Then, I presented some apps and activities involving the use of IMAGES and VIDEOS.

For THE LINKS I shared during the talk, pass the mouse over the infographic and look for some "magic dots".

How to embed a PREZI presentation

It's amazing what you can do with PREZI. I have already posted about it here, and now I decided to show you how to embed presentations you create with PREZI. They only offered you a link before.

Once you've created your prezi presentation, click on the link they give you and you'll be taken to a page with your presentation. Below you'll find the embed code (which was not available a few months ago).

There are two kinds of players you can generate:

simple navigation - the one I embedded below which you have to click in order to take you along the path I've created.
autoplay - which plays as a video.

You can also share your presentation in twitter or facebook with a simple click.

New Presentation tool : PREZI

It´s AMAZING what you can do with http://prezi.com . As other presenters, I had always used powerpoint to prepare my presentations but I´ve always wanted more. I GUESS I´VE FOUND what I was looking for. Instead of preparing a linear presentation with a series of slides (and then have to go forward and backward) you can create a map + path for your presentation. You can zoom in and out as you like, add many sorts of files ( pictures, videos, texts) and add movement and surprise to your talk.

I can´t recall how I found this amazing tool and am dying to try it out. After watching some tutorials I guess I´m ready to give it a go.
