A POWERPOINT PRESENTATION
Since the end of July, I´ve had the pleasure to become a member of a Yahoo community called "Learning with computers". Last week, I asked if anyone could help me add a powerpoint presentation to a blog of mine and to my surprise lots of wonderful members came to my aid with ideas of how I could do that. First, as suggested by a member I tried taking screenshots of my presentation in order to attach it to bubbleshare but the pictures didn´t come out so well because of reflex (is that the right word in English?). Then I tried uploading my file to www.elgg.net and I guess it worked. Here is the link to a presentation created for our TTC at Cultura Inglesa, based on the workshop given by Ron Martinez at Braz-tesol Brasília, July 2006. Hope you like it.

All these ideas were taken from Ron Martinez's book : "Como dizer tudo em inglês / Avançado".
I´d like to share another presentation with you. This time using slideshare. These are sentences taken from the book called "Language hungry" and I normally use individual slides to start class. The objective is to offer students something interesting to think about and in English.
Another ppt presentation: FOOD FOR THOUGHT
I loved your presentation.Very clear and friendly. I think you're trying to encourage our students to use them.
ReplyDeleteCan I use it in my class?

Hi AnaMaria, I am very happy that I was able to view your presentation. It will surely keep the audience's attention because of the colors and photos used. Your students are lucky to have a creative teacher who doesn't shy away from a challenge!

Dear Ana Maria,
ReplyDeleteIt worked!!! You're a great risk-taker and your blog is full of examples on how to use what you've been learning with our fantastic Lwcers!
Excellent job!

Hello everyone, thanks for the comments and of course you can all use this presentation. I really hope we can get students to use discourse markers more often.

What shall we do?
ReplyDeleteMany factors are involved in "learning". This research shows probably teachers are the most successful learners in the classroom. Because teachers choose the materials and design learning activities and evaluations for learners in the classroom. That's the real learning situation in the classroom and also the natural learning process for beginning learners. The more learners learn from different sources around them, the more they can be more successful learners. Finally they would know "authorities are not reliable".
What a teacher should do in the 'classroom'?
'Be a better and better teacher'.
'Be a teacehr who can see the truth and teach the truth.'
